Terry’s Top 10 New Years Resolutions (maybe)

Posted on January 02, 2013

Happy New Year to all of you!

Now, I normally don’t believe in New Year’s Resolutions, for two reasons:

1. I never remember what they are

2. I don’t want to set myself up for failure.

However…this year I am sharing…

Terry’s Top 10 New Years Resolutions

  1. I will put away clean laundry instead of using laundry baskets as drawers. You too?
  2. I will cook more than once a week. But only if I have time, the ingredients at hand, and family members willing to eat something besides spaghetti with butter.
  3. I will read the manual. Promise. Wait, where did I put the manual?
  4. I will not let my mind wander when talking on the phone. Example: I can wash those windows in the spring, pick up the dog toys later, order that book tomorrow, buy new socks next time I’m at the store, etc etc. You get the picture. Oh, what did you say again?
  5. I will read the expiration dates on cans and spices. That doesn’t mean I’ll actually throw them away, though.
  6. I will throw away my 1995-2012 calendars. Yes, I still have them. In the back of the closet somewhere.
  7. I will throw out all the shoes that I’ve kept “for gardening, basement cleaning, etc.” since in reality, you only need one pair for messy jobs. Wait, I don’t even garden anymore.
  8. I will stop procrastinating today and start exercising. Tomorrow. No, Monday. Maybe Saturday?
  9. I will throw out all the orphan socks sitting on top of the dresser. Or use them for cleaning. Or maybe not.
  10. I will start deleting old emails, but how long will it take to get through 67,056?

    I love you Terry!!

    1. I will throw all the pastic containers that do not have lids and organize the cabinet, tomorrow….
    2. I will hang up the clothes in the laundry room in the closets and quit using the laundry as a closet…..oh wait, I have to clean out the closet first……hmmm
    3. I will finally hang up the key organizer I bought 4 years ago.
    4. I will clean up the piles of magazines around the sofa, and do what with them?
    5. I will do a better job of reordering my meds before I run out……..yeah right!

My New Year’s resolution is to limit my time I spend on my IPad, as soon as I am done posting my thoughts on various blogs. Happy New Year!

  5. Jana

I’ll keep my car clean. Or at least try. 🙂

  6. Kayla Fay

I will stop nagging my boys.

I will remind my boys more often.

  7. Jennie

What’s wrong with using laundry basket for drawers?

  8. Ronelle Grier

Love these resolutions! But what if I throw out the orphan socks and then find their mates…never mind that they have been orphans for more than a year and their mates are undoubtedly long gone…!
And I actually did pitch some old calendars and expired medications and packages of food. But if I give up using laundry baskets as drawers, I would probably have to buy some more dressers! Happy New Year….belated, of course!

I love the cartoon. I would have made it the husband talking!
