Well, I just recently had The Mirena installed in December for heavy and painful periods and ever since, My ADD is out of control. I know that I have allot to do with it because I just cant seem to get it together but It has been debilitating. I wont go out at times because I just cant seem to be around a bunch of people. This is very new for me. I am afraid I will get anxiety and want to snap or I will just cry because I am not happy with myself and feel everyone else feels the same. I am not a depressed person normally and am starting to come to the realization that it may have something to do with the Mirena.
I am a mess. I cannot focus, I have been trying to get my very tiny apartment clean for days and just cant seem to do anything that I need to do to get my life together. My life is crumbling before my eyes and I not only dont know what to do, but just dont have the ambition or drive to do it…

Some of what you are describing sounds a lot like what I experience when I am depressed. Have you considered being evaluated for depression?

I have been diagnosed with depression in the past. (Due to an abusive relationship). and was on Wellbutrin. But have been off of it for years. There was a time about maybe 6 or 7 years ago, I tried Wellbutrin again but it didnt have the same effect on me before and I couldnt take other antidpsnts as they made me tired even more.
I have had the worst past 3 years ever and have been through allot but I just dont care to be on another pill. I just recently spent a couple days with my mom and she talked some sense in me and that helped. as far as getting in gear and doing the things I need to be doing. But I also did notice that when my cramps and 2 week periods finally start to dicipate, i seem to be feeling better. I guess as dumb as it sounds, i didn't realize that Mirena released hormones. which has never worked well for me. I tried birth control in the past and alls it did is make me emotions, moods, weight gain and exhaustion worse.

I know you don't want another pill but you might want to considerit for just a few months to see if you can get yourself motivated to start doing what you need to and once you are feeling better and have strategies in place you could go off it. There is a form of Prozac some women take just before their periods-for pmdd – pre. Menstrual dysphoric disorder I think it stands for- I think it's just 2 wks per month you take it. I know I get what I call "stupid" the week before my period-foggier, moodier- and I hate that feeling!!
