Here’s my list of what I’m exploring this week.
- What I’m reading- The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma, by Bessel van der Kolk M.D.
There’s lots of overlap in symptoms of ADHD and trauma/PTSD. If you’ve had a rough childhood or have experienced trauma in your life, and have had subsequent medical issues like fibromyalgia, depression, IBS, etc., this is an excellent read.
Also, check out Gabor Mate’s book, When the Body Says No: Understanding the Stress-Disease Connection to learn more about the body/mind connection.
I think we need to pay more attention to all of this.
- Product I’m Using- Light up pen My brain is on rapid-fire at night, so falling asleep isn’t always easy because I have all these IDEAS on my mind. I just ordered this light-up pen and will jot my thoughts down without waking up my hubby. Well, that’s one problem solved!
Favorite Quote– “What is creativity but impulsivity gone right?” –
- What I’m Watching- What I Want to Say to My Mom, Who “Drugged” Me , By Jessica McCabe of How to ADHD. Don’t be put off by the title- read this!
- Cool Items to Check Out- My hand-picked list of ADHD gifts for your loved ones and for you. Lots of items still on sale from Black Friday/Cyber Monday.
PS: ADHD Shortcut
I’m sick and tired paying a ton of money at the ophthalmologist and schlepping out to get my contact lenses, so I buy them online at a discounted rate and have them delivered to me. Here’s one company I like.
PPS The Queens of Distraction Cyber Week sale ends in two days! Join now for only $95 and get six entire MONTHS of online group coaching with me and your fellow queens. That’s less than one coaching session!

Love the new 3 minutes with Terry format!
I read The Body Keeps the Score 3 years ago, right after I was finally properly medicated. It was so powerful and made me realize the extent of the shaming my undiagnosed and also narcissistic father put me through all my life, and led me to EMDR for healing.
